Ah, that time of year where I come home with mysterious bumps and bruises, scratches and bites. Usually, I have no idea how it appeared there or when it occurred, but I guess that’s what happens when you work hard and play harder. I vividly remember the first time I super-glued a cut on my knee after tripping on a branch in the woods. It wasn’t a huge deal and it healed fine, but I don’t think it was probably the best idea. Now that I have some first aid and a little bit of nursing experience behind me, all I can think about it the bacteria crawling around in there! Yikes!
And I hate going to the doctor. Unless its reallllly bad, I “fix” things myself. LOL This wound salve has come in handy a many times and it doubles as a body butter for super dry and cracked skin. Here’s what you’ll need to do:
2 Tbls organic beeswax pellets
1/2 Cup organic coconut oil
1/4 cup organic jojoba oil
3 capsules Vit E oil (or about 15 drops if you buy in bulk like me)
Lemon Balm leaf, chopped (optional, but very calming and antimicrobial)
Lavender buds (optional, but the swiss army knife of healing)
Melt the organic beeswax pellets, coconut oil, jojoba oil, vitamin e oil and herbs if you’re using them in a pan on low, stirring often. Once combined, remove from heat and allow to cool. It will start to appear cloudy. Now, start adding essential oils. I used:
8 drops Tea Tree
5 drops Purification
5 drops Eucalytpus Globulus
5 drops Lavender
5 drops Frankincense
5 drops Lemon
5 drops Helichrysum
5 drops Clove
All your love and healing vibes
Stir gently to blend. Allow to cool completely. I recommend also having a zen moment the aroma of the pan. It sooooo good!
Store in an airtight container and label. Keep in a cool, dry location…which is also not your bathroom. 🙂
